Are you looking for a wood fence done in a moderna and elegant way? Look no further! Here is a new build fence done in Heath, TX. This look is achieved with 3x3 wrought iron posts, Western Red Cedar 2x4's, Japanese Cedar pickets, and metal used for cap and trim. We started by setting our posts on 6' centers, the depth is determined by the height of the fence. 6' fences need a 2' post hole, and 8' fences need a 3' post hole. Once posts are set, we cut 2x4's in half using a table saw then securing to the wood to the posts with wood to metal screws. Once completed, we start nailing the pickets to the wood that's secured to the post. We start at the top then work out way down using a level to ensure the picket is level. Next, when all the pickets are nailed, we add a full 2x4 brace in the middle of each section to add more strength and stability. Once all the braces are nailed, we weld 2" angle iron to the top of the fence as a cap, then 2" flat strap down the sides of the fence for the trim. Once all metal is welded properly, we begin painting the metal with a black glossy paint to match the post.
